2014 Le Cadeau & Shipwreck Stew

Shipwreck Stew
Ingredients:
  • 1 - 1/4 lb hamburger

  • 1 white or yellow onion

  • 4 large carrots

  • 2 large russet potatoes or red/yellow potatoes

  • 1 large can stewed or roasted tomatoes

  • 1 can kidney beans

  • Kosher salt (to taste)

  • Ground pepper (to taste)

Instructions:
  • Brown hamburger and chopped onion, drain

  • Add thinly sliced carrots and potatoes

    •  Add as many as your family prefers!

  • Add can of tomatoes, including can liquid

  • Add can of kidney beans, including can liquid

  • Add salt and pepper to taste

  • Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 2 hours

  • Occasionally check to ensure there is enough liquid so no scorching happens

This is a Jackie Grassie family recipe.  And like many family recipes, the ingredients are customizable to whatever your family likes best (specifically to the amount of carrots, potatoes and type of tomatoes used)!  Make it your family's own but, most importantly, enjoy making while sipping a glass of Le Cadeau!
